Is This A Symptom?

Right after Andrew's celiac biopsy came back positive a month ago, he was complaining of his feet hurting.  I contacted the endocrinologist thinking that it could be neuropathy but they told me he's too young for that.

He's been on a gluten free diet now for one month and hasn't mentioned anything about them.  Tonight, he started to complain again about his feet.  Have any of your children complained about their feet?  If so, do you think it's related to diabetes or celiac?  I've read some people say that their children's feet hurt when their blood sugars go too high and others say that when they get glutened their feet hurt.  His blood sugars have been behaving, so I don't think that's the issue unless he's spiking too high inbetween meals.  It could be possible that he got glutened at Eat N' Park last night for dinner.  Hmmm.........  Any ideas????

  1. No new ideas. My son did complain that his legs hurt a few times, when he had keytones and blood sugars in the 400's.

  2. Foot pain isn't something we've heard over here. She had lots of leg pain pre-celiac, but those symptoms resolved after going GF 2 years ago and haven't returned.

  3. Hi Wendy,
I'm wondering if it's because his intestines might not be healed yet??? I have an appt. today with the endo. so maybe she'll have an explanation.

Thank you for checking for me!!!!

Shannon - Thank you for letting me know about the blood sugars. That's something I'll have to remain aware of.
